Here are some of the stories our visitors shared with us, in random order:

Story #1:
I got to know my boyfriend, 19 months ago. So last year we spent Valentine's Day together. It was a wednesday, so unfortunately we couldn't be together all day. Aftre school we met in a cafe. He brought me a little, pink, heart shaped cookie. It was really cute:a few words with his parent,couldn't believe what I saw! Everything was full of flowers, petals and candles! It was enormously romantic! I've never ever thought before that once I'll learn this situation. I've seen it a hundred times in movies, but in real life...it was incredible.

But that's not all. He took out his guitar, and started serenadeing! I was totally embarrased because I absolutely didn't count on it. Afterwards this all, we talked all evening, and he said he hadn't celebrated Valentine's Day before, because he hadn't been in love with his previous girlfriends enough. I was really glad that day. I'll try to give back that happiness that he gave me. But I think it's impossible to give him back that wonderful day.

Story #2
this is a simple story that happend last valentines day. My bf and I have been together for almost o3 years. We are both University students, so money is always an issue, for neither of us have jobs while we are in school. So valentines day is usually always low key. I am pretty sure valentines day was on a wednesday last year, and of course it was a school day! I remember going to class and having a horrible day, but when I came home to my appartment there was an old fashion key hanging with a ribion on my door knob.

I picked it up and enterd my appartment, there was nothing out of the ordinary so I really didn't understand what was going on. When I put down my bag I noticed on my pillow was a sticky note [yeloow] that read "you hold the key to my heart", only, at this time I wasn't actually holding it [lol] I put the key down, so I ran over to it and picked it up !

My bf said he got the key on e-bay for $2.00 (plus shipping). The key was an old fashion british key, so it has some history and weight !

simple things are wonderful surprises !

Story #3: The Honest Spirtiers
Sparkle wasn.t your typical kind of girl. She sparkled and shined at everything she did. Sparkle was a perfectionist and she tried her best at everything she did. Trust me!!! She did almost everything. She sang, danced, wrote stories and poems, was into loads of types of excretes, did ballet, and cooked. Just, t o names a few. She was even extremely pretty!!! Sparkle earned that nickname by sparkling like she did. Her real name was Milderd Bella Baston. Sparkle wasn.t like by many people because she will s o perfect they were jelous of her being so perfect. She couldn.t help it she was born like e that. One day, she was in New York in Central Park. She was singing . White Lines . by Alexz Johnson quietly to herself. Sparkle was so into the singing it got louder. She, didn.t even reliaze it. Then, this guy comes up to her to compliment her. She is so shocked someone is talking to her. Sparkle, Asks, his name he says Sir Samuel Winston Price the Second. He is from London.

She says I like Sammy better. May I call you that? She says why did you speak to me. No one ever says, anything to me. He says, that he has never heard of her. They start talking about everytinhg. Where they.re from, family and friends, school their philosophies on life, religion. She feels safe with him. She feels appected. So, she tells him what everyone thinks of her. She she fells after he spends time with her he will find out anyway. He understands and says, Don.t worry I think that is admirable and good. Sammy also, says, he is impressed and never most anyone so remarkably interesting. She returns the compliment. They get so carried away talking by the time they know it is 5:00. They have to leave the park but they still don.t want to part from each other. Sammy invites Sparkle to his house for dinner. The family she want everyone else shes in her. That , she is too perfect . They ask him alone in the other family where he found her and what are intentions are with her. He says , she is the first person who came her and found out I was a Sir and who my family is and didn.t ask how much money I .m worth. Also , if I am related to The Royal Family. He says, he loves her because she is honest and understanding. During, desert he prospers to. He has no engagement ring to props with. He prospers because he gets so carried away with himself, with his feelings. He remembers something he goes out of room for a second. He goes into a storage room and opens a trunk that looks and it as big as a tears chest. He opens a big red velvet box in it . He takes out a sliver ring with a heart in the middle. In , the middle it has diamond circles in the heart. He prospers again with it and says. Sparkles I give you my heart wills you talk and spend entirety with me . Sparkle is so schoked and surprised. She says, Yes, give me you heart and I shall love it and keep it forever.

To Enter
To enter, email your best Valentine's Day story to nicolerichieorgcontests@gmail.com with the subject "Valentine's Day Contest", and in the body of your email include your story (at least 1 paragraph) and your address (so we can send the gift to you if you win). You get points for submitting a story, and can get additional points if you get a friend to enter or you have a website or blog (see scoring, below). The contest ends 11:59 PM Eastern Time on February 13th, 2008 4:30 PM EST on February 12th!. The winners will probably be announced right after, by 6 PM. This is a really easy contest to enter, all you need to do is to send an email, and you could win!

Scoring
You get 10 points for submitting your own story, and 1 point for every story you get a friend to submit. If your friend submits a story, they must include your email address that you used to submit in the subject of their email in order for you to receive a point. Note: they must be a real-life or online friend, no strangers!

Rules and Regulations
-The stories you submit to us must be true and written thoughtfully. A story told in two sentences will not count. The length should be at least one paragraph.
-If your friend enters and you want to count that as a point for yourself, they need to include your full email address in the subject of their email. E.g. their email can read "Valentine's Day Contest, myfriend@emaildomain.com."
-You cannot "make up" friends and write their stories yourself, your friend must write their stories themselves and email us. if we notice something suspicious your entry could be disqualified.
-If you want you can send us your address only if you are the winner and we contact you for your address. You will have 72 hours to respond if you decide to do this.
-We will tally up the points at the end of the contest, you do not need to keep track of this although you may if you wish and at the end of the contest let us know how many points you think you have.

Prizes
There are two prizes available for the top two people (if there is a tie, although this is unlikely, there will be a drawing for the winner).

Prize #1:

The prize is a Victoria's Secret goodie bag just for this Valentine's Day contest! It contains: a body spray, body wash, some surprise items (may include lotions, etc.), and the "tote" bag which will the items will be put in (all three are Victoria's Secret items)! Specifically, the spray scent is Blossoming Romance, in the spirit of Valentine's Day. The body wash doesn't have a name for the scent but it is in a pink container and it says "Very Sexy For Her". The bag isn't exactly a tote bag but it looks like a small tote bag. It's as a shiny silver on the outside and pink on the inside, and has two silver colored handles. Great gift for yourself if you're a girl and makes great presents for a girl if you are a guy.

Prize #2:

Q: I don't live in the US, can I still enter?
A: Yeah we will ship internationally.

Q: How much are the prizes worth?
A: The first place item is "worth" over $30-$40 (and will we also pay for the shipping). The second prize item is worth about $8-10 (and we will pay for the shipping).

Q: What is the surprise items, and why won't you just tell us what it is?
A: It'll probably be stuff like lotions, maybe other random makeup things, etc. We haven't exactly decided on them yet, and also we thought it might be fun for it to remain a surprise. But we told you the total value of the gift bag if you wanted to know.
